Once upon a time, in a quiet village surrounded by misty hills, there lived a young woman named Lila. She dreamed of crossing those hills to find a better life â one filled with purpose, peace, and light. But every time she stood at the edge of the path, Fear whispered in her ear.
âYouâre not ready,â Fear would say.
âWhat if you fail?â Doubt would add, smirking from the shadows.
So Lila stayed where she was â watching the hills but never climbing them. Days turned into months, and her dreams began to fade, replaced by a dull ache in her heart.
One morning, she met an old traveler resting under a tree. His clothes were worn, but his eyes were bright. He noticed the sadness in her face.
âWhy havenât you gone after what you desire?â he asked.
Lila sighed. âBecause Iâm afraid I wonât make it.â
The traveler smiled gently. âAh, thatâs Fear talking. I know him well. But tell me â have you ever met Faith?â
Lila frowned. âFaith?â
âYes,â he said. âFaith walks the same road as Fear, but she carries light. When Fear says, âWhat if you fall?â Faith answers, âWhat if you fly?ââ
That night, Lila thought about his words. The next morning, she packed her small bag, took one deep breath, and stepped onto the path. Fear and Doubt followed close behind, whispering louder with every step. But Faith was there too â quiet but steady.
âKeep walking,â Faith told her. âYou donât need to see the whole road â just the next step.â
The hills were steep, the nights were cold, and more than once she wanted to turn back. But each time she almost did, Courage would rise â not as a shout, but as a whisper from within:
âYouâve come too far to stop now.â
And so she walked.
Through fear.
Through doubt.
Through darkness.
At last, she reached the top of the hill. The sun broke through the clouds, bathing her in gold. In that light, she realized something powerful â Fear hadnât disappeared. It had simply grown smaller, because Faith and Courage had grown stronger.
From that day on, whenever life grew uncertain, Lila would smile and say,
âFear may walk beside me, but Faith leads the way.â
⨠Moral:
Courage isnât the absence of fear â itâs the choice to move forward despite it. Faith doesnât erase doubt â it outshines it.
